During the second week of our Netherlands 19 trip at Duinrell, some of our group were keen to go to Madurodam. Now, we love Madurodam, but it’s getting to the stage where we’ve probably been there enough times. For me it is anyway. Continue reading “Netherlands 19: The route to Delft”
We spent the second week of our Netherlands 18 trip at the place that’s starting to feel like our second home, Duinrell. We’ve been going to Duinrell for quite a few years now. There’s many reasons why we go, one of which is the proximity of places like Madurodam.
We’ve been going to Duinrell now for quite a few years, since our first visit back in 2012. We have been to The Netherlands on a number of occasions previously, mostly in and around Amsterdam. We came across Duinrell while looking for places to go, we’d previously had a day trip to The Hague and it looked like a nice place to spend a bit more time, so we decided to give it a go.
While we were staying in The Hague, we had friends staying at Duinrell for the week. Given it was a nice day, we decided to head on over to the beach, and as we were equipped with bikes, we headed to Wassenaarse Slag, which is about 4km from Duinrell and about 14km from where we were staying in The Hague.
This was our seventh trip to the Netherlands as a family, we’ve been there a number of times before kids too. Previously, we’ve stayed with friends in Amsterdam, camped in a number of the large European style campsites and Duinrell. This was our first time staying in The Hague, where we chose to spend the first five days of our trip.
